SACRED HEART DEVOTION DAY 30

Sacred Heart of Jesus desires that we become devotees of His Most Blessed Mother

Up to this date we meditated upon the virtues and goodness of the Sacred Heart and what this Divine Heart desires from us. Now let us contemplate briefly how the Sacred Heart desires that we become devoted to His Mother. No other creature can be paired with Jesus in the manner in which Mary is. Like St. Bernard proclaims:” The moment Virgin Mary gave consent to be the mother of Eternal Word, she became worthy to rule over all creatures, gained power over the whole world and to protect it. Since Jesus and Mary share the same flesh, the Mother cannot be separated from the power and reign of her Son. Therefore both share the same majestic glory.”

Bernardino of Siena says:” All creatures who serve God also serve the Virgin Mother of God. All the heavenly hosts and all creatures under the sky and on earth, who are under the reign of God are also under the power of Virgin Mother. The moment He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of Virgin Mary, Jesus was obedient to His Mother and always followed her commands. Though Jesus says, “My hour has not come yet” ( John2:4), still out of love towards His Mother and to honor her, turns water into wine at Cana and thereby all ages call her blessed.

Our Savior Jesus after giving Himself as our daily and super substantial Bread, again at the foot of the cross gives His Mother as our mother and interceder. Hanging on the cross, Jesus looked at His mother and said, “Woman, behold, your son” and to His beloved disciple John He said,” Behold, your mother.” From that hour onwards Mary became the mother of all humanity and we became her children. This shows the profound love and respect of Jesus for His Mother.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus desires that through the intercession of Mary we will be blessed with all the goodness and treasures of this Divine Heart. For, St. Bernard has taught us that all our petitions through Mary’s intercession are certainly granted. So let us earnestly implore her motherly assistance and may her prayers help us, and may we be worthy through her intercession to enjoy abundantly all the divine blessings from His Sacred Heart.

INVOCATION (JAPAM)

Sacred Heart of Jesus overflowing with grace! I adore You. I love You with my whole heart. Lord! It is my solace and comfort to realize that You love very dearly all the souls who honor and love Your Divine Mother Mary. You have taught us that You will never despise the petitions of Your Beloved Mother, so how will I not pledge my solace and comfort in her! O My Jesus, full of love! Grant that I may be worthy to abide in Your Holy Mother’s love and like St. Joseph lay my soul in your divine hands reiterating ‘Jesus, Mary ,Joseph into Your hands I commend my spirit’ and enter into eternal rest and peace.

Grant to Your Church, O Lord, assurance of freedom, protect our Supreme Pontiff and make haste that all may know the haven of truth, and have unity of faith, so that there may soon be one fold and one Shepherd! Lord, be merciful to the unfortunate sinners, console the souls in Purgatory and be merciful to me, your unworthy servant. O Immaculate Heart of Mary, O Mother of all blessings, I firmly believe that through your powerful intercession, all my prayers and petitions will be granted. Amen

Almighty and eternal God, look upon the Heart of Thine most-beloved Son, and upon the praises and satisfaction He offers Thee in the name of sinners; and appeased by worthy homage, pardon those who implore Thy mercy, in Thy Great Goodness in the name of the same Jesus Christ Thy Son, Who lives and reigns with Thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, world without end. Amen.
